Terms and Conditions (AGB)

Version: April 2025
Operated by: FrenschConnection GmbH, based in Freiburg with a view of the Black Forest.

§1 Who we are

We develop MIDI devices with personality.
And yes — we also have to write terms and conditions. Sorry.
We’d much rather be building another controller.

§2 What you are buying

A MIDI controller called FrenschPress.
It does nothing you don’t want — and everything you need.

More devices will follow — but give us a little time.

This is hardware.
No subscription. No in-app purchases.

§3 How the purchase works (spoiler: pretty normal)

You click “Buy”.
We say “Wow, thank you!”.
You receive an order confirmation.
Then a package arrives.
Then enlightenment (optional).

The contract is concluded in accordance with §§ 145 ff. of the German Civil Code (BGB).
Sounds fancy. It isn’t.

§4 Prices, shipping, taxes

All prices include statutory VAT (we love that 19%).
Shipping costs are added and shown clearly before checkout — no surprises.

At the moment, we can't sell or deliver to Non-EU Countries (Switzerland/ UK).

§5 Payment

Payment is processed via our payment service provider Mollie, which offers, among others:

  • PayPal

  • Credit card

  • SEPA

  • Advance payment (for those who miss 2005)

Your payment data is processed directly by Mollie.
We see none of it — which is exactly how it should be.

Your payment data is treated confidentially.
Because we’re not mean. And because the law says so. Win-win.

§6 Delivery

If devices are in stock, we usually ship within 3–5 business days.

§7 Right of withdrawal

(also known as the “I’ve changed my mind” paragraph)

You have 14 days to withdraw from your purchase without giving any reason.
(Although we’d still love to know why — feedback matters.)

The full withdrawal policy can be found here.
Short version: tell us, send the device back, get your money back. Done.

§8 Retention of title

Until full payment has been made, the goods remain our property.
They are technically just visiting you.
A very useful visit.

§9 Warranty

(in case you manage to break something)

Of course, you are entitled to statutory warranty rights:

  • 24 months for private customers

  • 12 months for business customers

If something doesn’t work and it’s not your fault, we’ll take care of it.
If you dipped it into coffee — we’ll still talk.
We’re humans.

§10 Data protection

(oh yes, that too)

All information can be found in our privacy policy below.

§11 Jurisdiction, place of performance, and the boring stuff

German law applies.
Place of jurisdiction is our company headquarters: Freiburg im Breisgau.
Place of performance is where the package rolls off the ramp — in other words: your place.

§12 Final words

If you made it this far, you don’t get a discount code — but you do get our respect.
Thanks for reading.
Or scrolling.
Both count.

Privacy Policy — Short & Clear

Privacy matters to us.
Not just because we have to say so, but because we’re not fans of tracking madness or data-hungry monster cookies either.

Here’s what happens when you browse our website, place an order, or contact us — and what we do not do with your data.

Data Controller

FrenschConnection GmbH

What data we collect — and why

Technical data (automatically collected):

  • IP address

  • Date and time of access

  • Browser and operating system

  • Referrer (e.g. Google)

This is standard technical information.
It is required for website operation, stored only briefly, and anonymized where possible.

When you place an order

We collect:

  • Name, address, email address

  • Order details and payment method

This is necessary to process your order — so you receive your package and an invoice. Makes sense, right?

When you contact us

If you write to us, we store your details in order to respond.
No data is shared with third parties.
No spam. Ever.

Cookies — yes, but only the good ones

We use cookies for:

  • Shopping cart functionality

  • Language settings

  • Technical operation of the website

Analytics or advertising cookies are used only with your explicit consent.
No hidden tracking.

Payment service provider

Payments are processed via Mollie
(Mollie B.V., Keizersgracht 126, 1015CW Amsterdam, Netherlands).

Your payment data is transmitted directly to Mollie.
We do not store credit card details — and honestly, we don’t want to.

More information: Mollie Privacy Policy

Shipping

Your name and address are passed on to the shipping provider (e.g. DHL).
Nothing more.

You have the right to:

  • Access your data

  • Correct or delete your data

  • Data portability

To exercise any of these rights, just email us:

Everything else is deleted once it’s no longer needed.

We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external websites.

Security

SSL encryption, secured servers, and no random data clutter lying around on desktops.

This privacy policy may be updated when necessary.

Right of Withdrawal (Returns)

Withdrawal Policy

(We still appreciate feedback — just saying.)

The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier) received the goods.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, please contact us at:

by means of a clear statement (e.g. by email) informing us of your decision to withdraw from the contract.
You may use the sample withdrawal form below, but this is not mandatory.

Consequences of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including delivery costs (except for any additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than our standard delivery), within 14 daysfrom the day we receive your notice of withdrawal.

The reimbursement will be made using the same means of payment you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise.
In no case will you be charged any fees for the reimbursement.

Returning the goods

You must return the goods to us within 14 days from the date on which you notified us of the withdrawal.

You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

Please ensure that the product is returned in resalable condition: original packaging, all accessories included, and no damage — you know the drill.

Exclusion of the right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that are custom-made or clearly personalized, for example if a custom engraving was added at your request.

QLab Mode

Plug & Play:

GO, STOP, PAUSE / RESUME, PREVIOUS / NEXT Cue, PREVIOUS / NEXT Sequenz
